Nurture Your List to Build Trust and Make More Sales

Being inside someone’s inbox is very intimate. It’s an opportunity to nurture the relationship with each person on your list, building trust one email at a time and ultimately making more sales.

Every time I get an email from an influencer I follow, I read that email and feel like she’s talking directly to me. And if she’s selling something?!? Forget about it…I am like on the edge of my seat saying HOW MUCH HOW MUCH ???? If I don’t feel that way, I usually take the time to unsubscribe cuz they just aren’t my jam, ya know? (That is also a great way to clean your inbox.)

On the other hand…. I’ve also gotten an email and say to myself “WHO THE EFF IS THIS?? I never signed up for that list… UNSUBSCRIBE.” That happens when we are not consistent inside their inbox. They forget about us.

As content creators and online business owners, we want more of the first type of reaction and less of the latter, yes?

So, how do we nurture our list so we don’t become forgettable?

We learn to nurture and build trust by taking the reader on a journey.  We must also be willing to show up and be consistent with sending weekly nurturing emails that authentically share our story and experiences.

Before we dive deeper into this, I wanna give some advice when writing emails: Don’t overthink your writing.

Yeah, there is a formula (blah blah blah) and that works, but it can also backfire if it makes you too rigid. You have to connect, and in order to connect you have to let your true voice come out. So, just write and go back to edit later! Better yet, have someone else edit and give feedback. Write like you are speaking or writing to your BFF or your favorite client.

TAKE THEM ON A JOURNEY

  1. What’s your promotional plan? What are you offering in the next 6-10 weeks?
  2. What’s your content plan? How will your content lead them to your offers? What do they need to know in order to say YES when you make the offer?
  3. Use the same journey over and over again, adding in new content as you learn and master for yourself.

SHOW UP CONSISTENTLY with boundaries, of course!

  1. Send a weekly email to your list (or segments of your list).
  2. Plan & prep your content with batching.
  3. Ask for feedback to learn what they like and to keep them engaged.
  4. Offer next steps (your offers) at least once a month.
  5. Launch your BIG offer every 2-3 months.

SHARE YOUR STORY & EXPERIENCES

We all know that fear holds us back. Yet, we still let it have power over us! That constant “I don’t have a story” “My story isn’t good enough” “I don’t know how to share it”…I find myself saying that at times too, so you are not alone. We just have to commit to overcoming that fear and stepping into the unknown. I reveal the 3 places to find your stories in this FB live. (It’s super simple!)

Writing emails is similar to what you are already doing on social. It’s just making it a little deeper and a little more intimate.

To me, writing an email feels safer than sharing on social. Why? Because you chose to be here, on my list. You said YES to hearing from me.

And, because of that intimacy created in email marketing, you’ll be able to really connect and create trust with your people!

MANTRA: Bring me my people. Let me teach them!

You now have the knowledge and skills to start writing to your list on a consistent basis. Set your intention to take action & you’ll start to see fewer unsubscribes, more opens, and definitely more sales!

PS – If you haven’t even started your list yet, you can this weekend…it will only take you 90 minutes tops! Check out my blog on how to start!

I am a mixed media mosaic artist based in Sturgeon Bay, WI. I love using a range of materials for my creations including but never limited to glass, ceramic, gemstones, vintage beads, acrylic paint, watercolor paint, concrete, metal and magazine images.

My work is guided by the energies of the chakras, the energies of the divine feminine principles and by the energies of the cosmos. The macro, the micro and everything in between.

To me, it is all interconnected, all coming from Source. You will see in my work that I am very inspired by color gradients to create an ombre effect.
